Prior to your Facial
- Stop all retinoids (Rx Retinol) 1 week prior
- Avoid waxing at least 1 week prior
- Avoid any sun tanning, tanning beds, sun burns
- Stop use of AHAs/BHA 2-3 days prior
- Avoid photosensitizing activities and medications prior to your treatment
- Keep the skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water
NOTE – Accutane is a contraindication for a facial
After your Facial
- Avoid long periods of direct sun exposure
- Moisturize the face consistently as the skin may feel tight in the days following
- Always apply a broad spectrum 30+ sunscreen during daylight hours, indoors and outdoors; reapplying every 2 hours
- Avoid harsh exfoliants and retinoids for at least a week or until skin sensitivity subsides to avoid over compromising the skin barrier
- Stay hydrated with electrolyte water
